Welcome!

I’m Alison, a teacher and lifelong learner. Click on the links above to find out how I can help you with writing support, music, yoga, or academic tutoring.

I believe that teaching should be personalized to the interests and needs of individuals, whatever their age and prior experience. Whether you want a piano teacher or a proofreader, to balance on one leg or to build a balanced curriculum for your child, my approach remains focused on dialogue, functional skills and celebrating your successes.

You can learn more about my background elsewhere on the website, but here’s a summary. I hold a PhD in Music Education from a Canadian university, have worked as a school teacher in England and Wales for 20 years, and teach accessible yoga to individuals and small groups (mainly adults). These roles, combined with my own experiences of SEN/D and being an international student, have all contributed to my ability to “look at the whole picture”. I know how many of us can feel restricted or overwhelmed when faced with prescriptive courses and lessons! If you want help making a required task more engaging and relevant, or are looking for support that is completely tailored to your own situation, I can offer you a rewarding experience.

I live in rural Norfolk and offer in-person tuition here, but I also teach and support clients from all over the world. Whether you’d like to meet in person, live online, or solely via email, I’m sure we can find a time that suits us both.
